On 21/09/2021, PlugCo provided a third party certificate from TÜV SÜD for inflatable pipe plugs to a Tunisian Petroleum company.
All started when one of our customers sent us a project in hand with a short period delivery requirement to offer the highest quality of Inflatable Gas Pipe Plugs. PlugCO and TÜV SÜD
PlugCo chose TÜV SÜD as a third party to carry out the 100% witness test of the gas plugs. The test was inspected by Mr. Niyazi ALTUN from TÜV SÜD and Mr. Mucahit Yıldız, production Manager, from PlugCo.
The materials to be inspected were 20 pieces of Inflatable Gas Pipe Plugs, made from nitrile rubber, which is resistant to hydrocarbons, oil and gas, thus making the Gas plugs the best choice for applications in chemical applications, oily pipelines, or refinery projects.
Pressure Tests
All the 20 pieces were for size 100mm-200mm (4”-8”), require a working Pressure of 2,5 bar (36 Psi), and can hold a maximum back pressure of 1,0 bar (14,5 Psi). they were all marked with PlugCo Trade Mark, and have a different serial number to make the test easier and efficient.
After the visual test of the plugs, the company prepared 3 units in order to perform the pressure tests in the same period. The test was carried out inside a 160 mm diameter, 3.3mm thickness and 2000mm length of a carbon steel pipe. At an inflation pressure of 2,5 bar (36 Psi) and a Back pressure of 1,0 bar (14,5 Psi), and hold on for 30 minutes as per the EN1610 Standard.
Tests Results
As per the results, the Pressure Test succeeded and was acceptable from the TÜV SÜD Inspector who has witnessed the tests.
The table below shows a summary list about the test carried out in ArGeSIM Makina’s factory – the Trademark holder of PlugCo– in Çorum / Turkey.
All tests and calibration tools were in accordance with the standards. Therefore, PlugCo obtained the TÜV SÜD certificate as well as the calibration certificates for the manometers, which are the traceability documents to the international standards, which realize the measurements according to the International System of Units (SI).
If this had any meaning, it would mean that our products are of high quality and effective, that they can be used safely and easily by following the instructions on PlugCo user manual.
Goods shipping stage
As expected, the goods were shipped to the Customer in a great shape at time, and Also the Third-Party Certificate of TÜV SÜD was delivered after getting the technical inspection report from the Technischer Überwachungsverein.
