High Pressure Pipe Plug is mainly made of metal body bonded to extra reinforced rubber used to seal or test high pressure pipelines.
High Pressure Pipe Plug
High pressure Pipe Plugs are mainly made up of a metal body bonded to extra reinforced rubber. These pipe plugs are mechanical devices used for sealing and plugging the end of a pipe, which facilitates the hydrostatic testing and isolation of pressure barriers.
HPP are manufactured to resist excessively high pressures, so that the plugged ends can stay in place with total control while the section of pipe in question is pressurized.
Order High Pressure Pipe Plugs from PlugCo
PlugCo supplies high quality high pressure pipe plugs. These plugs are suitable for high pressure applications, they are able to withstand and resist a back pressure of 6 bar. The limited back pressure the PlugCo HPP can withstand depends on the customer’s needs. If the customer needs a plug that can withstand a higher back pressure (more than 6bar), then the PlugCo team will always be able to supply it. Thus, PlugCo’s high pressure pipe plugs can be custom made to meet the customer’s project requirements, as can most of our products such as Our High pressure Joint Tester, our Inflatble Pipe Plug, our Air Discharge Adaptors, and other products.
Pipe Plug Back Pressure Chart
Back pressure is the most critical issue for users of on-site pipe plugs. It is the force that the pipe plug maintains during the process. Pipe plugs are usually subjected to enormous back pressure that is generated in the pipe. Therefore, the back pressure must be calculated precisely to avoid the pipe plug from slipping inside the pipe. Slipping of the plug can lead to dangerous results.

Find the answers to all your questions about High Pressure Pipe Plug
-
What is the most importing thing about High Pressure Pipe Plug?–
PlugCo is considering the safety as its first priority. That’s why we are always insisting on following the safety instructions in our Safety Manual to avoid the Plugs sliding or bursting, which can result in bodily injury, death or property damage!
-
What is the material of High Pressure Pipe Plug?–
The High Pressure Pipe Plug is made of steel body bonded to extra reinforced SBR+NR Rubber.
-
Can we use one HPP Model for many pipe sizes?–
HPP Model is single size pipe plug which means that you can use one HPP Model for only one pipe size. For example, you can use HPP1200 for only 1200mm diameter pipe.
-
Is PlugCo offering any training of how to use High Pressure Pipe Plug?–
PlugCo is providing trainings to its clients of how to succeed their test and how to use the High Pressure Pipe Plugs correctly, and in the end of training, PlugCo is giving certificates to the concerned ones. In addition, PlugCo is assisting its clients by providing on-site supervision.
-
What are the storage conditions of the High Pressure Pipe Plug?–
The High Pressure Pipe Plug should be stored in a dark & dry place, away from direct sunlight, and the temperature must be between +5°C and +25°C. In addition, before and after each use of the Plug, be sure to clean the external surface of the plug. However, NEVER Clean the plug with solvents, hydrocarbons or other aggressive agents.
Pipe Plug Inflation Pressure
The inflation pressure, also referred to as the working pressure, indicates the pressure that is required to inflate the plug with air. It is the pressure within the plug that comes from the air supply (compressor or hand pump).
High Pressure Test Plugs are used for what?
High pressure Test plugs are a series of Pipe plugs that are commercially available from PlugCo. They are available for applications with a use size ranging from 100 mm to 2000 mm. These Pipe plugs are typically used in high pressure applications, which normal inflatable rubber plugs cannot hold.
Cases where we recommend HPP as the perfect solution
We provide the PP model, the standard model, if the diameter of the pipe is ≤ 1200mm and the inflation pressure is ≤ 3 bar. Or if the pipe diameter is 1300mm≤…≤2000mm and the inflation pressure is ≤1,5 bar.
But if the pressure is higher than the above, the best solution to provide is HPP.
Pipe Testing Plugs High Pressure; features and benefits
Among the most important benefits of using high pressure plugs is the reduction in materials and labor associated with conventional methods of sealing pipeline. This ultimately leads to a significant reduction in overall time and cost. In addition, the availability of standard sizes in a variety of configurations to meet specific customer applications. And Note also their Capability of testing pipes with operating pressures from 100 mm to 2000 mm.
As a manufacturer of pipe plugs, the production of high pressure pipe plugs proves the good quality of the material compared to other manufacturers.
There are two ways to prevent the plugs from sliding: firstly, by reinforcing and supporting the plugs or by using our new product “the Smart Plug”, which is more practical because it has the ability to know the counter-pressure that the plug can withstand and control it by pumping, and then provide the appropriate support. In addition, the Smart Plug is equipped with an alarm system that can warn users if the plug is going to slide during application.
